Age Restrictions
The minimum driver age is 25 years.
For drivers aged between 20 and 24, a "Young Driver" surcharge will apply.
The age-related surcharge is not included in the rental price and amounts to USD 25 per day, up to a maximum of USD 1550 per rental. The amount must be paid in local currency at the car rental office.
Driving licence
All drivers must present their original driving licence, which must be valid beyond the end of the rental period.
If the national driving licence is not written in Latin characters (for example Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc.) or was issued in a country not covered by international agreements with the country of rental, the driver must hold a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) and present it together with the original national driving licence.
IMPORTANT: It is the renter’s responsibility to ensure they have the necessary documents to drive in countries other than their country of residence.
The driving licence must be original, intact, legible and valid.
Digital driving licences will NOT be accepted.
Passport
At the time of rental, all drivers must present a valid passport.
Documents must be original, intact, legible and valid.
Digital documents will not be accepted.
Included insurance coverages
[TPL] Third Party Liability:
Covers damage caused to third parties in the event of an accident for which the driver is responsible, excluding the rental vehicle itself.
[LDW] Loss Damage Waiver
This coverage removes the excess and relieves the driver of any financial liability in the event of damage or theft, provided that no breach of the rental agreement has occurred.
The coverage is valid only when the vehicle is used correctly and does not apply if the damage results from unauthorised drivers, driving on unpaved roads, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, refuelling errors, or dangerous driving in violation of traffic laws.
In the event of vehicle theft, if the keys are not returned, the customer will be fully responsible for reimbursing the total value of the vehicle.
Roadside assistance
Roadside assistance is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
It covers call-outs due to mechanical breakdowns or malfunctions of the vehicle not attributable to the driver, within the authorised driving area.
If assistance is required due to breakdowns, faults or negligence attributable to the driver, the cost of the service will be charged to the customer.
Taxes included in the rates
Tax rate (VAT).
Airport/railway surcharges.
Fuel/Electric Charging
[Full to Full]
The vehicle is provided with a full tank and must be returned full.
If the vehicle is returned with a lower fuel level, the customer will be charged for the missing litres (calculated according to average reference prices) plus a refuelling service fee.
[Electric vehicles]
The rental station will record the battery charge level at the time of pickup.
The customer must return the vehicle with an equivalent charge level to the initial one, allowing a tolerance of ±5% compared to the recorded value at pickup.
If these requirements are not met, a surcharge will be applied for each missing kilowatt-hour (kWh).
Mileage
The rate includes unlimited mileage.
Territorial limits
Authorisation to drive the vehicle across national borders is valid for the following countries, under specific conditions:
[CANADA]
Vehicles may be driven into Canada at any time, regardless of the original rental location, with no additional charge.
[MEXICO]
Vehicles may be driven into Mexico only by the main renter, aged 25 or over, with prior authorisation from the rental location and only if rented from a «Hertz» branch located in California, Arizona, New Mexico or Texas.
It is mandatory to purchase additional local insurance, at a cost ranging from US$ 38.00 to US$ 48.00 per day, plus taxes and fees.
If you plan to drive the vehicle outside the national territory, you must inform the «Hertz» staff in advance at the time of pickup.
Vehicles may be transported by ferry. However, if the ferry destination includes areas with unpaved or dirt roads, vehicle use is not permitted.
[ATTENTION]
- In the cities of Fairbanks and Juneau (Alaska), vehicles may not be transported by ferry.
- In the State of Alaska, the following roads are prohibited for rental vehicles: Dalton, Steese, Dempster, Elliott, Denali and Taylor Highways. In case of violation, the customer will be responsible for all damages and recovery costs of the vehicle back to the rental location.
Payment methods
At the time of vehicle pickup, a credit card in the name of the main driver must be presented to cover the security deposit and rental payment.
[ATTENTION] The main driver must present the physical credit card; the digital version of the card will NOT be accepted.
[Credit CARDS]
Credit cards accepted at the rental desk: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, JCB, China UnionPay.
The credit card must have embossed numbers and details; a PIN code will also be required.
The following payment methods are NOT accepted: revolving cards; debit cards (e.g. Mastercard Debit, Maestro, Visa Debit, V-Pay); Bancomat cards (e.g. PagoBancomat); prepaid or rechargeable cards, of any «Electron» type (e.g. Viabuy, PayPal, Green Dot, Postepay); cards linked to digital bank accounts (e.g. N26, Revolut); cards marked “Electronic use only”; virtual credit/debit cards; credit/debit cards in digital format; cards stored on mobile devices (smartphone, tablet, smartwatch, etc.); Visa Dankort and Cirrus cards; NON-NOMINATIVE cards; cards NOT in the driver’s name; cash and/or cheques.
For security reasons, all information on the credit card must be clearly legible and undamaged so the rental company can verify its authenticity.
Always ensure that the credit card used has sufficient funds at the time of rental. The blocked amount corresponds to a flat rate (specified below) but may vary depending on the vehicle size, driver’s age, rental duration and pickup location.
If a valid physical credit card is not presented, or if the card lacks sufficient funds, the rental agent may refuse to release the vehicle. In such cases, no refund will be provided.
Deposit amount
When collecting the vehicle, a security deposit will be required.
This amount can only be processed using a credit card in the name of the main driver.

• The conditions relating to accepted credit cards, required features and any applicable limitations are indicated in the paragraph "Payment methods".
An amount of US$ 200.00 will be pre-authorised, plus any extras or services purchased and not prepaid online.
This amount will be released at the end of the rental provided all rental conditions have been met.
Administrative fees
Any damage to the vehicle will be charged by the rental location upon return, and an administrative damage fee will be added to the amount withheld under the excess.
In case of fines, the driver will be subject to an administrative fee in addition to the amount of the penalty.
Vehicle pickup
The vehicle must be collected at the time agreed during the booking process; after this time, the rental location cannot guarantee its availability, and the booking will be considered void without prior notice.
Please always inform the rental location in case of delay.
Vehicle return
The rented vehicle must be returned on the date and at the time stated in the rental agreement. A tolerance of 29 minutes is allowed; for longer delays, the rental location will apply an additional charge.
No refund will be issued if the rental ends before the date specified in the rental agreement.
If the vehicle is returned to a rental location different from the pickup one, an additional charge will apply. This must be pre-authorised by «Hertz».
Vehicles are delivered clean, inside and out, and must be returned in the same condition. Otherwise, cleaning charges will apply proportionally.
For rentals with return outside opening hours, the service is available only at locations equipped with a key-box. The customer must inquire at pickup about how to use this service. The contract will be closed by a rental company representative upon reopening, and the customer remains responsible for the vehicle until it is officially checked in.
Vehicle category
The vehicle shown and the models listed are the most common ones used by our rental partners.
We cannot guarantee that the make or model of the rented vehicle will be the same as the one displayed on our website.
Voucher
Upon arrival at the rental office, you must present your voucher.
Attention: TiNoleggio/TinoRent accepts no responsibility for any surcharges if the voucher is not presented to the rental desk agent at pickup. In such cases, no refund of the prepaid amount will be issued.
Accessories and extras
Additional accessories and extras must be requested at the time of booking or communicated to the rental location. These are not included in the rental price and must be paid for at the time of pickup.
Accessory prices are managed directly by the rental company, which reserves the right to change them without prior notice.
Additional accessories and special equipment are subject to availability, which can only be guaranteed by the rental location where the vehicle is collected.
Out-of-hours service
The vehicle pickup service outside the rental office’s opening hours is not available.
Vehicle return outside opening hours is not available, except at rental locations equipped with a key-box for key drop-off.
In case of delay, please contact the «Hertz» rental location as soon as possible to allow staff to arrange, and where possible, wait for your arrival.
Exchange rate
All rates shown in EUR have been converted from the currency USD; the exchange rate used is the one in effect on 2025-12-16 and is equivalent to 1 USD = 0.8509 EUR.
All the payments that will be made at the counter will be paid in local currency. As a result of possible monetary fluctuations, these amounts could deviate from what is shown EUR during the booking phase.
